The DOS/PC compatibility card from the Quadra 610 or Power Macintosh 6100 can be installed in any machine with an 040 PDS slot. This includes the Quadra 650, 700, 800, 900, and 950. However, in these machines, the rear I/O plate does not line up with the card. You can simply install it and run the cable out of the back, but this could result in the card being accidentally pulled while on, which could damage the card or the Macintosh. This bracket attaches to the card in place of the original I/O bracket and affixes it in place via the front of the in-line NuBus slot and the opening at the back of the machine. The cable can be clamped in place with a zip tie.

To assemble:

  1. Remove the original I/O plate from the card.
  2. Install the lower bracket to the card using 2 M3x20mm screws and 2 M3 hex nuts.
  3. Feed the cable through the rear I/O opening in the case and connect it to the card.
  4. Zip tie the cable down at the provided slot.
  5. Install the card with the bracket attached into the PDS slot. The bracket should go over the front of the in-line NuBus slot and rest at the bottom of the I/O opening at the rear of the machine.
  6. Install an M3 hex nut in the provided slot on the upper bracket.
  7. Slide the upper bracket into place and secure it with an M3x20mm screw. It should closely fit against the top of the rear I/O opening.

I have only tested this bracket in a Quadra 650 with an aftermarket cable. I do not know if this will properly fit other supported Quadras or the stock cable. I have provided STEP files for this model so that it can be edited easily if necessary to fit other hardware.

Print with supports.
