It is both frustrating and dangerous when the footrests on a wheelchair flop down unexpectedly. This can cause the person in the wheelchair to trip or be bruised. After several years of use this became a constant problem when the bump (shown in the images) wore down.
This part can be inserted in the footrest without any adhesive and does not fall out. Since it is printed with TPU, it provides a constant pressure on the pipe and keeps the footrest in the desired position.
The FreeCAD model is parametric and hopefully can be adjusted to work with other wheelchairs that have this same issue.
