Yet another filament rack.
I couldn't find any models that fit my needs so I designed my own.
I wanted to store my filament under my staircase and make use of the space between the studs, without the rack sticking out too far.
Specs
- 3 countersunk holes for #8 wood screws (4mm diameter screw + 8mm diameter head)
- Holes positioned within the depth of a standard stud (3.5") for easy access
- Accommodates 2x 0.5" (~13mm) rods (I cut some old metal curtain rods)
- Adjustable rod slots for flexible spool placement (1kg and 250g spools)
- Chamfered front holes for smooth spool insertion (Note: I print inside walls first)
- Dual-sided design eliminates the need for mirroring the file
Print settings
- More walls = stronger brackets
- Printed in PLA+, with 5 walls, 5 top and bottom layers, 20% infill
- ~45g of filament and 4 hours per bracket
Designed in Illustator and Tinkercad. No parametric files but easy to modify.
I am open to creating customized versions for different rod sizes upon request.
