1/26/2024 I have uploaded a new model that replaces the factory hub, no need to glue to factory hub!
The instructions at the bottom are for the glue on model, which is easier to print since it uses no support.
For the snap on / no glue model print it at .2mm and use support with the threaded end down. Take your time getting the support off there will be a nice part under there.
You will remove your hub(just pull it off) take it apart(see video link ), superglue on a threaded adapter and put it back together it will now accept tiny spool hole diameters such as Prusa, as well as huge spool diameters such as Sunlu. Note that you will no longer be using the three"jaws" on this hub. When you glue the threaded adapter on the end of the hub, first lightly sand the end of the hub as well as the tapered id of the threaded adapter, practice a few times verifying that you can indeed position the adapter squarely on the end of the hub. The tapered slotted collar will center and locate the spools against the newly added thrust plate, you do not want to tighten it up past “SNUG” there is a “hex wrench” in the model to use if the hub turns while tightening the collar. I printed it .2mm layer, use PLA so you can glue it, verify that the threads work freely before you glue the adapter on.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
