PINGVAS is an elegant vase of modern form with organic flair. It is narrow-necked to keep slender floral arrangements upright – think one or a few straight, tall stems. And of course it’s functional, holding water in the base to keep your blooms fresh longer.

Try it with a color change somewhere along the base, and experiment with different filaments and colorways!

Build tips

Voronoi structures look delicate to print and they are indeed somewhat delicate to print. This model has been meticulously iterated on and optimized for FDM, with negligible bridging or overhangs and enough strength in the thin Voronoi branches to avoid breakage while printing.

Nevertheless, a few recommendations:

  • The entire shell is 2.4 mm thick, which makes it sturdy, watertight, and easy to print solidly with 3 wall loops on a 0.4 mm nozzle (3 outer loops + 3 inner loops).
  • The thinnest of Voronoi branches can be knocked loose if the nozzle passes directly over one and there's a slight blob in the way. You can play with z-hop distances, but in my testing, a reasonably tall layer height (0.2 mm works great for me) and setting your slicer to avoid traveling across existing structure worked well to mitigate this issue.
