The handle is easily unsnapped for cleaning of the peeler and makes holding and controlling the peeler easier.  It also affords a more aesthetic look to the peeler.

When inserting the magnets, make sure the two attracting surfaces are properly aligned so that the two assembled sides to not repel one another.
