I really liked the mechanical counter from 3D Printy, but I was not fan of the connection solution.
I want to make my prints 100% 3d printable, without any metal materials or glue.
After much time in blender I managed to remix the models to use PrintABlock connector from 3D printing professor.
Here is how it assembles:

If you already printed all of mechanical counter, all you need to reprint is:

  • 1 Start Open.stl
  • 1 End Open.stl
  • 3 Core.stl
  • 2 Index Gear.stl
  • and around 8 PrintABlock Connector.stl connectors

And after assembly everything should satisfyingly click together without any rods or glue ;)

Printed in PLA, on Prusa Mini with input shaping on 0.20mm Structural setting.
Index gear printed separately as it did not want to stay on print bed :(

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Changed:

  • Core stl to use PrintAblock holes and made bigger column so it fits
  • Start Cap to use PrintABlock holes
  • End Cap to use PrintABlock holes
  • Made Index gear inner diameter bigger, because of the bigger column.
