PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE THE RPM GEARBOX IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK, THE METAL MOUNT AND A-ARM ATTACHMENTS ARE NEEDED FROM IT
I needed a much bigger motor mount for my Rustler 2WD, so I remodeled a RPM gearbox without the cover mount/wheelie bar mount to accommodate huge motors.
It's snug, but I can fit a Castle 1717 1650kv motor in there with 18/47 mod 1 gearing (planning on installing taller gearing soon), I'm also planning to run it on 8S which is completely overkill, but I really want to make a custom 3D printed chassis too.
This isn't anywhere close to being final. I want to find a way to add the wheelie bar back without interfering with the huge motor. I posted this now because the gears, bearings, and extra bits fit and spin perfectly. I'm posting Solidworks files so anyone can edit/add their own thing.
Supports are needed everywhere except the holes, and print upright. The L transmission case cannot print face down, so it needs to be printed standing up, with lots of support. I should've made this more 3D-printable, but that's to come in future versions which I am planning to do, since I want to make an 8S rustler.
Notes:
Any driveshaft cup diameter 11.5mm or lower will fit (MIP driveshafts work perfectly, I have them installed)
This upgrade is intended for cars with the original Magnum 272 transmission (non-R) with the RPM gearbox upgrade.
