While aftermarket toolheads like the Dragonburner are great and offer a wide coverage of hotend compatibility, in a bowden configuration there's nowhere to mount the toolhead PCB. This design solves that by offering a bolt-on PCB holder that mounts directly to the carriage. This allows the Dragonburner or similar toolhead to be installed and removed independent of the toolhead PCB.

This design includes an optional cable cover and it does clear the B and A drive assemblies in the back as well.

Assembly

  1. Two M3x5x4 heatsets are required where the PCB screws into the mount
  2. An optional third heatset is inserted from the back, allowing a screw to come through the carriage back through to the mount. This one isn't really necessary but it's there if you'd like to use it.
  3. If the optional cover is used, the screws go through the cover, through the PCB, into the heatsets. Otherwise just use a short M3 screws on the PCB.
