A client wanted an HDMI switch hidden under their conference table but wanted to be able to access the HDMI Select button from the top of the table via a push button because they did not want to rely on a tiny cheaply made remote control that in their words “will accidentally easily walk away in someone's pocket the first week we have it.”
I used the StarTech VS421HD20 because it has a standard momentary push button to which I could solder some wires and run up to a remote momentary push button. I used Molex 0.062 two-wire connectors and Dremmeled a hole in the side of the switch case.
I then designed and printed the simple L brackets. One side has a hole for the power to connect through and the remote switch side has a rectangle with cut out to fit the female Molex connector.
The connector I used is Molex part number 1501761021. The mate to it is Molex 1501781020.
There are three files here. The third file has the Molex connector as part of the bracket and can be printed, but I never got a print that I liked. I included it just in case someone else wanted to try it.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
