We recently bought a 14oz Ember Mug and realized it would be useful to have a second charging coaster in the house.  The replacements felt overly expensive and it seemed easy enough to make one with parts I had around the house.  This is the result.

Requires:

  • 2 Pogo Pins ~6-8mm total length with a diameter of about 1.5mm - feel free to widen the holes with a drill bit if needed and likely glue in your pins.
  • 19V 2A DC power supply to wire to the pogo pins.  The innermost pin is the positive pin.

I printed in PLA with 0.2 layer height and no generated support - but I did add a small custom support within the bottom cut-out where the pogo pin holes come through to ensure they printed fairly clean.  I let the rest of the cutout print as a bridge.

I chose gyroid infill of 25% to not take an extraordinary amount of time, but add some slight mass to the part - a quick test print with less infill (and lightning) was really light.
