UPD:

JAN - added models without led bar, without screen (for regular and hidden bolts)

Hello community!

Like many of you, I was shocked by the weakness of the frame and made some attempts to fix it.

Adding dampers under the printer - helped with noise

Rotating spool - helped a bit, but was not a silver bullet

Removing the spool out of the frame - IMHO did not help

I even wanted to stop my experiments, but discovered a significant angle of the frame (You should definitely check yours!)

Also check Y axis rods! Screws weren't even touching rods. Replaced with a bit longer bolts

So the solution was pre-defined: add metal gantry supports! I have found only one implementation and did not like it, so created my own.

You will need:

  1. threaded shaft - 1 meter of M10 - you should divide it by 50cm
  2. m4 bolts and nuts
  3. drill your brand-new but wobbly printer - you do this on your own risk blah-blah-blah

How to print?

  • PETG!
  • Supports needed
  • 4-5 walls, 40-50 infill
  • No airflow to get the model really strong
  • print orientation:

Mount tips:

  • Start with right side as it is bolt-on to install
  • the left bottom plate must be located as mirrored right side. Use left frame side as anchor for measurements
  • use double-sided tape to initially mount left bottom part, check dimensions

Possible improvements:

  • remove the screen part if you use Klipper
  • you can use M8 shafts and change holes, but I strongly suggest to use M10 threaded rod
  • top models contain a connection part for the light bar - remove it if not needed. But I am pretty happy with this kind of light

Also, if you know other ways to improve stability, raise quality and want to share your experience - welcome to comments,
