Been wanting to make a Human to interact with all the Aliens like Rahtro and friends for a long time! This is an original 3.75 inch / 1:18 scale action figure named "Planetary Explorer". Or maybe that's his title, not his real name. He is a human from Earth, but possibly a clone and there may be some silver-headed androids out there made to look like him. He is good friends with Rahtro.

This version has 5 points of articulation: arms, legs and head rotate.

He has 5mm diameter holes in the front and back of his torso for attachments (coming soon!) Probably also going to need a helmet at some point. He is wearing some sort of armor / space suit with shoulder protection and some sort of forearm covering protective / computing devices.

BOTH hands can hold things, like a blaster or a walkie-talkie!

The arms and legs can pop in to pretty much any 5 mm diameter hole.

This guy fits into any of the Planetary Explorer Module spaceships among my other designs. Will also fit into various other sci-fi ships and vehicles that share the same 1:18 scale.

I have a few of these up for sale here: https://www.petesactionfigures.com/product/planetary-explorer-action-figure-3-75-in-1-18-scale-rahtro-made-in-usa-space

Notes:

Arm and leg can be mirrored in slicer to get right and left versions (they are identical). I added a leg with a holster that can be used to hold blasters or other accessories. (See pictures for usage)

Torso and legs can be printed upright with "support on build plate only". Rotated arms upside down and then at a slight angle, leaning backwards, say 30 degrees. Head was rotated back 45 degrees. Tried printing it completely upright but then the neck joint was always breaking off. There may be other ways to do it, but that worked best for me in terms of the print not failing and minimized unintended roughness from supports.

Post-Printing

Assembly

Arms and legs snap into torso with some steady pressure. An adult should be able to do it by hand. May help to twist left and right slightly while pushing steadily. Arms and legs are NOT intended to be removed again, might be hard to do so without breaking them!

Joints are easier to insert and a bit stronger than Rahtro!

How I Designed This

Used blender and some subdivision surface modifiers, sculpt mode for the head, undo and redo about 1000 (or more) times! Built the arms, legs and head separately from the beginning.

Used Tinkercad to add in the joints. Blender still drives me crazy trying to do that, so much easier (for me, anyway) in Tinkercad!
