Kazoos are so much fun. And actually very easy to print.

There already are many 3D printable Kazoos to choose from. I just wanted something that also looked like a lot of fun.

To play the Kazoo, you simply need to hum the song into it, which makes it very easy for children to learn.

No supports and very little infill needed. It can be scaled both up and down. But I think this is the perfect size. Smaller will also be more fragile and not as noisy.

I use a 0.6mm nozzle 0.22mm layer height for the body and 0.12mm for the horn. Smaller nozzle sizes or higher quality of the horn may require you to add support.

Here is how to assemble the Kazoo:

  1. Use the washer to cut out a membrane from a thin plastic bag
  2. Put the membrane into the top hole
  3. Then put the washer on top of the membrane
  4. Screw in the top nut
  5. Screw in the front horn (This has no function. Just there for looks)

If it troubles you to put in the membrane, you can use a glue-stick on the washer, and add the membrane to it.

I hope this fun little instrument brings a lot of joy.

This is the “serious” version of the Kazoo. If you want one that is sure to bring smiles and is more targeted for children, you may like this:
