Hello Adafruit,
thank you for sharing your tool and model. I am a 90° degree dyslexic, so with your tool, things will go better. I just changed it for right handed people.
Thank you for sharing your model with us.
Kind Regards
Markus
awesome design, but where do you get the tapered bearing wheels? is there an STL?
I've made a few changes to the original model and I'll attach files when I figure out how to do it here! Changes I've made:
--Table that can be adjusted up and down and swivel out of the way if needed.
--Arm has been lengthened to give greater reach.
--Clamp-cover has been modified to include a setscrew to keep the soldering iron from wobbling.
--I changed the Roller-plate and added a second Roller-handle to front right so it resembles a standard drill press. (edited)
Actually I don't need it that often, but it looks great and will be helpful once I do mass production.
Perfect heat insert press set-up for a TS101 soldering iron. (modified with bracket for TS101 soldering iron, https://www.printables.com/model/616283-ts100-mount-adafruit-heat-insert-press) (edited)
The project is good but the Arm that holds the solder was a bit fimsy and the profile of the pulley is too low (the rope comes out very easily)
It also seems to have been designed by a left -handed given the position of the lever
Making the appropriate changes it works in an excellent way
