Chat-GPT wrote this simple script for me to convert an entire set of characters from a font to an STL. Click on Help > Font List. to get a list of your fonts. I just selected one at random on my system, Clarendon. select one and click “copy to keyboard at the bottom, paste it into the "font name” box, remove the quotes, and then render it (turn down $fn if it takes too long) and save it as STL. Split it up in your slicer.
A quick search told me that fonts have to be installed as admin for them to be available in openSCAD, so right click the font and click on “install for all users,” then restart openSCAD seems to be the solution.
It's a bit tricky to work with the whole alphabet stl in a slicer, so just put in the characters you need if you have problems. There are probably other converters like this out there, I just wanted to make sure there was one totally free.
