Tired of your silverware and utensils sliding all over the place when you close the drawer? Try an expandable slot divider to keep things where they should be!
The double-decker silverware and utensil holder we recently purchased from Aldi is great, except every time we close the drawer, items on the bottom shelf slide forward and under the top shelf to the point where you can't reach them.
A quick Printables search found that either no one else is having this problem, or they hadn't thought to publish a fix yet. Just before sitting down to design my own, I stumbled across “GPU anti sag support holder” by Nessuno0505 here on Printables and it was almost exactly what I had in mind, but smaller.
My remix provides two sizes. I suggest printing the top and base of one small size slot divider to test in each slot of your utensil holder before printing the rest, so you can decide if you like the size or want to adjust. In our silverware holder, the side slots are a little shorter than the middle slots to accommodate the top shelf portion of the holder. I only found this out after I'd already printed a couple of the larger slot dividers, tried putting them in the side slots, and found the top shelf wouldn't fit flush anymore. After realizing the large size works ok in the middle slots and the small size works for the outer slots in our situation, I called it good enough.
Thank you for the original model and inspiration, Nessuno0505!
The author remixed this model.
My remix uses the original model in a new context and provides two specific sizes to fit the wooden double-decker silverware holder we purchased from Aldi - 30mm diameter and 23.44mm diameter. Likely works with other brands.
