After being fed up with the flimsy excuse of a spool holder that came with my Kobra 2 Neo. I decided to make a top mounded spool holder. (I wanted more horizontal space)
This Spool holder bolts right into the top center of the frame.
This Spool holder is intended to be mounted facing the rear.
Needed Hardware
2x M4 8mm bolts - any style should work (I do not advise using printed screws)
(I was personally out of 8mm bolts. So I used longer bolts and printed a couple spacers to fill the gap for now.)
Core from Original Spool Holder
The original core fits in this holder. It was a tight fit for me. I had to apply a little bit of force to get it to turn and lock onto place.
My Print Settings
Slicer: OrcaSlicer
Infill: 30%
Walls: 3
After Mounting the Spool holder I decided I also needed a Filament guide to go with it.
The Filament guide is press fit into the bolt holes on the top left side of the printer.
I had to adjust it a few times to fit without breaking the studs on the bottom.
I used the same printer settings as above for this print.
My next project will likely be light bar that will integrate with he Spool Holder.
