I made this model as i was getting really frustrated with all the Hex bit holders i was printing off from other peoples models.
Most were too tight so i tried scaling them but could never get them to be that nice balance between tight enough for limited bit movement but loose enough that a small magnet in the bottom would suck the bit down and i could still easily remove the bit.
I finally realized it was because all the models were sized by replicating metal bit holders but everybody failed to understand that a machined bit holder has sharp corners and 3D prints struggle in this. Because of this every model online was actually gripping at the corners of the bit and not the walls like it is supposed to.
So i designed this bit holder with relief cutouts on all the corners to ensure that the bit is being held by the walls and not the corners. This fixed all the issues i had.
The bit holder has a slot depth of 23mm.
I personally CA glue a small 6x1.5mm magnet in the bottom which works great.
This holder is on the deeper side and will hold all but the really short bits.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
