This is a 3D printed torch shield for the Langmuir Systems Crossfire CNC plasma cutter that uses a Hypertherm machine torch.  It includes a holder for 2 inexpensive line lasers that will aid in material positioning under the torch. The lasers are very helpful not just for initial positioning but also in the "dry run mode" to ensure that the part fits within the material.

You will need a piece of rubber to make a “skirt” that fits the shield.  A high temperature, high durometer rubber sheet is ideal, but a piece of a rubber inner tube is cheap and suitable.

I have used PETG and ASA for these parts, and PETG works fine. This part does not get warm during plasma cutting.

The line lasers are widely available.

You will need:

5V DC power supply for the lasers – the power supply can come from an old charger

M5x12 screws, washers, and hex nuts to clamp on torch and on lasers (4 screws and nuts)

M4x8 screws, washers, and hex nuts to attach the rubber skirt (12  screws and nuts)

M3x8 screws, washers with SQUARE nuts to attach the ring to main body (8 screws and square nuts)

Rubber strip, as discussed above

I made a video about this project that you can see below.
