Gridfinity addicts, rejoice! Now you can bring your favorite organization system to the messiest place in your home: the Kitchen!

In the collection, you will find various different models for various different sized utensils. The models are available in “singles” and “doubles,” the latter of which are organized in tandem, to save space (2 slots wide, instead of 3). You should be able to find a set that works for you for your forks and knives, and/or, if you have multiple sets like we do, all the better.

There are even models for long straws, chopsticks, teaspoons, children's forks and knives, and more.

Additionally, this project is designed in OnShape, so if you'd like, you can take my design and upgrade/change/modify it to your liking - just please share your upgrades. Here's the design: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/30ba209a928dbd8d02e9787a/w/d0c7189406b061539e8a613b/e/33c32709124c9fd03d7175fc

Notes:

  • Don't let the names throw you: even if it's called “cheese forks,” it might fit something else! One man's chopstick is another man's straw…. so measure your utensils before deciding which of my designs to use for what!
  • The walls on these designs are incredibly thick! This is intentional, both for style, and because they will need to withstand repeated abuse, especially if you have kids who like to “help”
  • These bins are designed in such a way that the finger slides should line up when you place them in the frame. If they don't line up, rearrange or rotate (see figure).

But What About The “Other” Stuff?

If you plan to put in much larger things, such as serving spoons, spatulas, etc, most 3D Printers cannot accommodate printing something of that size. For this reason, I've created “modular” bins, with different sized “end caps,” which can then be paired with “blanks” of various combinations, just to hide the frame below. See pictures for more info on how that works.

Still Need MORE?

This set is really designed for “utensils” or “cooking instruments,” but don't worry: If you have lots of little “odds and ends” that fall outside the realm of utensils (bag clips, cup labels, rubber bands, etc) kicking around in your drawer, I highly recommend using the Gridfinity Rebuilt for OpenScad model by kennetek to generate your own, custom bins for that, too. You can see in my photos, I've done the same.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I used these blanks as the base for building my entire system, but it's an entirely different thing  :)
