Hi! Thanks for checking out one of my first-ever 3D models I designed! I was tired of having to leave my phone further than arms-reach away while showering, so I designed this towel bar-mounted shelf! I'm not that addicted to my phone, but in case of emergency calls and the like, I wanted to be able to grab it quickly, so I designed a shelf to mount onto the towel bar right next to my shower.

I've lived in apartments for the past 8 years and have yet to have a towel bar that's different than this one, so of course this is what it's modeled around:

The shelf is designed to clip onto the left side of the towel bar. If this design gains any traction/popularity, I'll consider flipping the design so that it can clip onto the right side as well.

Shelf Dimensions

The shelf has inner dimensions of 165mm x 85mm and was designed to fit a Google Pixel 7, but plenty of other phones will fit into the same dimensions as well, as will any other items you wish to use it for! It has a lip to prevent vibrations from causing the phone to slide off, and an open bottom end to allow for sound to be emitted from the speakers at the bottom of most phones unobstructed! I've even hung my glasses from the support arm and it works flawlessly!

Print Instructions

You can really do whatever you want here, so long as you print things in the orientation shown in the photos (shelf right-side up, towel bar clamp upside down). No supports needed, though you might want to print with a lower layer height than normal (I did .12) to help with some of the inclines of the support arm. I printed mine with 4 walls and default infill. For the shelf, however, I used a concentric top layer and I really like how it came out as a result! I printed mine in Overture Royal Silver PLA.

Assembly

Simply slide the shelf onto the support arm and then optionally secure the clamp to the towel bar using a M4x25 bolt and nut. Gravity will do a pretty solid job keeping it in place, but I wanted to secure mine, just in case (of what, I have no idea).

As this is one of my first models, and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy! Have a lovely day! 🙂
