This is Makey Mark! Makey is turned into a 3D-printed benchmark object
that tests various qualities of 3D printers and filament types.
Inspired by features on other benchmark objects, Makey Mark adopts
some of those characteristics into her design while keeping the
classic Makey look. One notable example is how her arms have a surface
that ends in an edge (point 7), creating a shape with a circular
bottom and a triangular top. This mimics the bow of the classic Benchy
benchmark object, incorporating the iconic surface quality test into
Makey’s general design. Here are some other tests that Makey Mark has:
Diagram Labels:
1. Warping from the flat base
2. Stringing between vertical surfaces
3. Layer adhesion in the arms
4. Overhangs
5. Bridging
6. Spherical surface
7. Surface quality (similar to Benchy’s bow)
8. Tolerance between puzzle
9. Text engraving on a horizontal and vertical plane
10. Chamfers and Fillets
