How to Get Started

To start growing e.g herbs from seeds, follow these steps:

Select the Herb Seeds

Choose the herbs you want to grow. Some popular options for hydroponic herb gardens include basil, mint, parsley, and cilantro.

Prepare the Hydroponic System

Fill the pots with moist soil and water the reservoir tank. It is a good idea to add plant food to the water.

Germinate the Seeds

Place the seeds in the moist soil, cover the top with food plastic wrap (cling wrap) and keep them in a warm area. The cling film ring can be used to secure the firm. Check the soil regularly to ensure it stays moist but not soaked. After a few days, the seeds will begin to sprout.

Provide Adequate Lighting

The light needed will depend on the plant selected, so check its needs. As a rule of thumb, 12 hrs a day is good.

Prepare the pots

You must add stings to the bottom of the pots to draw the water into the pots. This is commonly called the wick. To prep the pot:

  1. Cut 34 x 500mm stings
  2. Knot both ends
  3. Knot the middle
  4. Thread them through the holes in the pot's bottom
