This is an extension to my original drinks can ring-pull opener, which is designed for people who have weak forearm and grasp strength (such as MS suffers – and one in particular), although of benefit to anyone who lives with such a restriction, irrespective of cause. Simply place the opener through the ring pull and rotate on its outer circumference to open the can. The opener creates a longer turning moment and so requires less force with less grip.
On one end (and point down to avoid any eye contact) is the original can-opener. On the other is a rotating can lid that uses the cans ringpull as a pivot. (see pics). I have combined my ring pull opener (a smaller version of my food can ring pull) with a can cover. The idea of the cover is taken from Osund's original ‘can opener with lid’ (published on Thingyverse - see below). The construction varies to ensure there is sufficient strength for it to act as the ring-pull handle.
If you want it to look pretty print at 0.1. If you want it rustic but strong print at 0.2.. I printed in PETG for UV and water resistance. Gcode and STL supplied. If working from STL. The opener prints ‘hook up’ and requires some enforced support for the ring-pull insert bed & the tip of the opener (included in the gcode)

I took inspiration to add functionality to my opener from the original can opener with lid published on Thingyverse by Osund. A great design that you can find here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5386671
