The Dornier Do X was a remarkable aircraft of its time, a massive flying boat designed by German engineer Claude Dornier. Introduced in the 1920s, it stood out with its colossal size and impressive wingspan. Capable of carrying a substantial number of passengers, the Do X marked a significant achievement in aviation history. Despite facing challenges and limitations, its pioneering design paved the way for future advancements in long-range air travel.

Note that there is a more detailed version of this model too. You can find it here.

Printing Info

There are two versions of this model, one with and one without a sprue. You can also print the individual parts seperate. Happy printing and building!

Building Info

Since this is a little bit more complicated model, there are some notes for building it.

  1. Push the engines into the spacer. Make shure they are all aligned.
  2. Push the engines into the wing. I suggest laying it on a flat surface and carefully pressing them all in evenly. If inserted correctly, the engins should face down slightly as seen in pic. 4.
  3. Press on the props. If some don't fit on, it might help to rotate them by 90°.
  4. Recheck that the engines are correctly oriented.
  5. Push in the swimmers and the elevator. Now you should be able to push the wing in place.
