I love this design! It feels very sturdy in my hands. Question: Would it be possible that you can offer a Parametric version of this box? I've been having some issues attempting to remodel it myself.
I printed this Prusa 3D Box in PETG, and it’s very cute and versatile. The closure mechanism is simple, effective, and robust. Just make sure the printer bridges correctly on the teeth of the closure at the bottom of the box. Approved by 3D KIMBA!
Awesome model. Printed with four tool heads.
I also fixed a small issue from PrusaSlicer (2.7/2.8), where the wrong color is used at the middle hinge (Changed the tool number in gcode manual. Fixed file is here: https://www.printables.com/model/707566-prusa3d-box/user-gcodes). (edited)
- scaled to 247%
- divited in parts
- scale height of seal from 5,4mm to 6,3mm, so the lid presses on it
- print wihtout whipe tower (always I do, because the waste of filament), 0,2mm speed.
- box size: 220mm x 170mm
- dark: prusament galaxy black (petg)
- orange: prusament orange (petg)
- white: das filament TPU (quite soft) (edited)
@nwilk123 Hi, I just did this in the prusa slicer like described. I have no files to share. Better to scale up the seal to 6, 5 mm in height
@GaiusPupus_11840 Okay, thanks!
Printing the seal with TPU doesn't make much sense, but the seal would have to be 1-2mm higher so that the edge on the opposite side also presses in the seal when it is closed
Printed in black and blue PLA with white TPU for the seal. Came out very nice. My feeling is that the suggested PETG + TPU would result in longer lasting hinges and clasps.
