Abarth 595/695 Rallycross rainlight bracket

Theses rally / rallycross inspired lights are created using some cheap chinese braking-light bracket and my 3d printed bracket.

Feature of the brake light

1. Fixed light
2. Blinking light
3. No light if unplugged
4. Very subtle light if you use the fixed light with a very low intensity. This isn't a feature of the product by design, but it still work and can be used if you wire them in that way.

How this work ?

• Fixation : 
  • Remove the trunk trim.
  • Tape the brake-light on the braket using mirror-tape.
  • Then tape the whole assembly on the car. The shape of the model is made to fit perfectly the trunk with 2 contact points.
  • You will need to cut a bit of the trim for the bracket to pass through. 
  • The bracket aren't compatible with oem rear trunk shelf. I need to update the design to allow it.
• For the wiring, it's up to you, but here is my way to do it.
  • I added a switch on the central dashboard close to the gearshift.
  • You'll need 2 meter of wire from the switch to a 12v input, I suggest + / - from the 12v socket. 
  • For the braking light feature to work, I soldered a socket to get the + from the third light on the trunk
  • To have a switch close to the driver, you'll need to pass some wire from it to the trunk and it's a f***** mess to achieve because the cable sheath from the trunk to the rear door is very tight. 
  • Other option is to use the rear window wiper to get power but despite having a switch on the steering wheel command, I figured that it's always on). 
• Tips : 
  • Don't solder directly on the harness but maybe use some JST 12v water resistance socket.
  • I had to cut a hanger to create a grommet. It was the perfect tool to not damage the cable sheath. That's highly recommended. 
  • Double sided mirror-tape is good to 

How to print ?

I suggest PETG or ASA and to print it from one side on the bed. Even with a bit of warping the model will work well.
