Future Changes…
The smaller version is a little stiff since the spring arms are shorter, I might try making them slightly thinner to compensate. You also need to loosen the screws slightly for it to work well since otherwise it's clamping the dials, which is a problem with the original model as well but I'll see if I can make it better.
Clicky
https://imgur.com/a/4Ju9NKQ (it always clicks, first half is nearly silent I assume because of some video recording feature on my phone)
Hardware
Uses 8mm M3 screws and nuts.
Changes
- Added the clicky
- Added a smaller version (body 81x39mm -> 69.2x31.5mm) and thinner smaller version (10.4mm -> 9mm)
- Reversed the dials: I thought it would be better this way but honestly I think I prefer the original dials. I've uploaded both sets, and the smaller version uses the original orientation
- Thickened some of the 0.5mm walls to 0.8mm
- Added sacrificial layers to remove the need for supports (0.2mm layer below screw/nut hole overhangs you will need to remove with a hobby knife or 3mm drill bit)
Print Settings (Mine, YMMV)
- REQUIRED: 0.2mm layer height due to design
- Material: PLA
- Top: No Support, Don't Filter Tiny Gaps (Cura)
- Bottom: No Support
- Left/Right Dial: Don't Filter Tiny Gaps, Filament change stuff at layer 11
- Spring x2: Don't Filter Tiny Gaps, 3mm Raft (not required if you have better bed adhesion than me. And don't cut yourself using your scraper to take them off the raft, I use anti-cut gloves)
