Introducing the Knucklebones dice game board.
My design is inspired by Maker's Muse video on YouTube, but with slightly different objectives:
- Print-In-Place:
- Designed for seamless printing without assembly.
- Forgiving Model with 0.3mm tolerance
- Magnetic Closure:
- Includes a magnetic closure system.
- Pause printing at 7.20mm to insert 12.8x6.4mm magnets (Amazon link)
- Magnets are strong enough to secure closure even if dropped.
- Compact and Mobile:
- Sized for convenience at 120x60x17mm, perfect for on-the-go gaming.
- Features an internal hinge for durability, keeping aesthetics in mind.
- Designed for small 10mm dice, on the photo are these - Amazon link
you need 17 dice
The F3D file is included for magnet adjustments or any needed modifications.
Feel free to ask for assistance during the process!
How to play: (Short version of the Knunklebones rules)
- Two players. Each has three vertical rows (columns) to place three dice. Up to nine dice in total.
- With each turn, the player rolls a dice and places it in one of the rows.
- If the opposite player's matching row contains a dice with the same number - the opposite player loses them from the board.
- The game stops when one of the players completes the full board (3x3 dice)
- Points calculation
- points calculated by rows and summed up
- if the same dice are stacked in one row, the value multiplies:
- 5 = 5 single dice values its number
- (5 + 5) x 2 dice = 20
- (5 + 5 + 5) x 3 dice = 45
- The winner is the one with a higher score
- Example:
- blue: 4 + 5 + 1 = 10
- green: 5 + (4 + 4) x 2 = 21
- yellow: (6 + 6 + 6) x 3 = 54
- Total: 10 + 21 + 54 = 85
There are plenty of online sims. Google if you are not sure.
Have fun, risk, and reward!
