Description

A beautiful nested geometric pendant lamp that can add ambiance and intrigue to any living space. Ceiling cable claps conceal the mounting hardware and provide a clean look for cable management.

If you don't have access to a 3D printer or one that can print these parts, I have this lamp available fully assembled on my Etsy Shop.

What you will need

Printing Instructions

I have pre-sliced gcode for the Prusa MK4, MK3, and XL. If you have a different printer or prefer to slice yourself there are some guidelines below.

Use the stock print settings and only alter the settings listed below. Each file requires a few different settings. All parts have been uploaded in the intended printing orientation.

ES-Hanging_Lamp_Nest_Outer_w_Modifier

We want to avoid infill and backfilling because light will bleed through the part and infill and backfill will make it look uneven.

  • 0.3mm layer height
  • 0% Infill
  • 0 Top Solid Layers
  • 0 Bottom Solid Layers
  • Settings for modifier cylinder (these settings should import when you load the model, but if they do not make sure to add the settings below)
    • 4 Top Solid Layers
    • 4 Bottom Solid Layers
ES-Hanging_Lamp_Nest_Inner
  • 0.3mm layer height
  • Spiral Vase Mode enabled
ES-Cord_Clamp_Base, ES-Cord_Clamp_Cap, & ES-Cord_Clip_w_Nail
  • 0.2mm layer height, necessary to make the threads thread together well
  • (Optional) add a small amount of fuzzy skin to the outside walls only. If you opt for the fuzzy skin, I think it looks best if you also use the Texture Sheet for these parts as well.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Unscrew the plastic nut from the fixture on the lamp cord. Place the lamp cord fixture through the hole of ES-Hanging_Lamp_Nest_Outer and then through the hole of ES-Hanging_Lamp_Nest_Inner. Screw the plastic nut back onto the lamp cord fixture. This can be a little difficult as the inner lampshade doesn't allow a lot of space for your hand.
  2. Use any screw that fits through the hole in the ES-Cord_Clamp_Base and screw the Clamp Base to the ceiling where you want to hang the light.
  3. Place the lamp cord through the slot in the Clamp Base, then screw the Clamp Cap onto the Clamp base until tight. You may want to use drywall anchors if not screwing into solid wood.
  4. You can repeat this process with as many Cord Clamps as you want to manage the cord along the ceiling.
  5. To manage the cord down the wall, you can use more Cord Clamps, but I suggest using cord clips with nails like the 3D printable ones I have included. Use as many as needed.
