Regular hooks are boring. So, I made this one that pops up when you hang something from it.

I created this model as an art project that has some functionality to it. When you hang something from the bottom hook, a cute model pops up.

You will need to print one of each part. There are two versions of the housing cube. One is for mounting with screws and thumb tacks. The other one is for mounting with tape or adhesive. I also included a blank model for anyone who wants to create their own version. If you find that the parts have too much friction, try sanding them down a bit to make it smoother.

Pop-up model:

  • Speed: 80mm/s
  • Layer height: 0.2-0.3mm

Housing Cube:

  • Speed: 40-60mm/s
  • Layer height: 0.2mm
  • Supports are needed for the screw holes

Central Screw parts:

  • Layer height: 0.16-0.2mm
  • Speed: 50mm/s
  • 3 Shells
  • Use brims

Crank:

This part must be oriented as shown in the photos because it has a print in place hinge.

  • Layer height: 0.16-0.2mm
  • Speed: 60mm/s
  • Needs supports for the tail and the bottom of the hinge.
