I was asked to make some tags for charging cables for use by elementary school age kids. After not finding any that looked durable enough, I designed these to withstand heavy every day usage.

There are several different sizes, use a caliper to find an appropriate dimension for your cable. I found that the 2.8mm works for Lightning/iPhone cables, 3.5mm for a lot of USB cables, 4.0mm for headset audio cables, 5.5mm for network, and 9.2mm for power cables. If you find it doesn't quite fit, take the closest and adjust the scale in your slicer by a few percent.

These are designed not to come apart easily. I've been using a small slip joint pliers to clip them together, but a wrench or small clamp should help seat the clasp. There is also a small indent on one side to pry them back open if needed.

I printed all of mine using common PLAs - however, I found that my shinier filaments were a little brittle and could break from the pressure during clamping. Also, a layer height of .16mm  with a 40% infill worked great, no support required!

I used a fine sharpie to color in the debossed characters, helps them stand out a little more.

If you have another common size that's missing, message me and I'll probably be able to get that made. Or if you have a request for another number or small word, I may be able to help with that too. I've also included blank labels in STEP format.

Enjoy!
