This is a simple mount to mount a 17" NORRFLY light strip (now discontinued) from IKEA to a MK4 (should still work on a MK3 like the original). Liked the old design's simplicity and used it for several months; however, as I started working with taller prints the original design started to interfere with the toolhead.

Should print fine in PLA (that's what I used) but PETG or others should work equally well. I printed using the 0.20 mm SPEED profile for the MK4-IS

  • Bumped to 50% infill for a little more rigidity
  • I used Honeycomb
  • 2 perimeters
  • 5 top layers
  • 4 bottom layers
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • No supports needed when printed on side

Print 2 to hold one 17" light bar.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Because the Nextruder its taller than the old MK3 extruder (I'm presuming since I don't have a MK3 to compare to…) there is limited clearance between the frame and back side of the LoveBoard and Nextruder assembly. When doing the Z or X auto-calibration there is the possibility that the toolhead will run into the original.

  • Flipped the mount so that it attaches from the back of the Printer Frame.
  • Lengthened both the horizontal arm and the vertical upright to accommodate the larger size of the Nextruder.
  • Reworked brace to make sure it was also not in the way of the Nextruder.

Should still work with the MK3 since this would just give even more clearance to the MK3 toolhead.

Also including STEP file for future remixes. Since NORRFLY is now discontinued by IKEA, I'm sure this design could easily be adjusted for other light bars. Design is also publicly available on OnShape.
