I recently built the OpenScan 3D scanner from https://openscan.eu and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050437
The control panel front looked a little plain so I designed an add-on front for it. Not only does it look better, it labels the buttons, power switch, and output ports. It also increases the size of the buttons for easier navigation in the menus.
Instead of designing in holes for the protruding mounting screws, I drilled out the existing holes and countersunk them. These are circled in red in the photo of the controller base. The faceplate is glued in place.
The model was designed in Fusion 360. The design file is included to allow customization of the text if desired. Sorry about the orientation - you'll need to rotate it to lay flat on the printer bed.
I included the gcode file I used for printing on my Prusa i3 Mk3 that includes color changes and custom top layer infills.
