These are cases for the active Y/C adapter made by the Retrocastle store on aliexpress. With this adapter you can connect your Mister FPGA to a CRT TV through either the composite or the S-video port. The adapter is sold without any cover, but now with this case you won't have to worry about it collecting dust anymore :)

I made 2 different models and each model have 4 variations, so there's actually 8 different models. The 4 variations are:

  • With or without an opening for USB cable: the adapter has a USB port for external power, but depending on your setup, the Mister itself will power the adapter, so you won't need to use the port and can have a perfectly closed enclosure.
  • With screw holes or with snap fit: I made two types of closure for the case, the first one is by using M2 screws. The other one is with snap fit, with it the case itself have internal pins that slide into place when you close it. You won't need to buy any screw in this case, but on the other hand those pins are made of plastic so they are weaker than the screws and can wear out if you keep opening and closing the case.

The differences between the two models are as follows:

  • Model 1: The screw holes are on the bottom of the case and the openings for the snap fit are on the side, so the top of the case will have a “cleaner” appearance. The biggest downside imo of model 1 is that you can only print the text on the top by extruding into the case, so the quality won't be that good.
  • Model 2: The screw holes or the openings for the snap fit are at the top of the case, so it might not be as visually pleasing, but you can now print raised text, which looks much better, and you can also print the whole case without using supports.

I've included renders for all the types of cases as images so you can decide for yourself. The switches fit all models. For the variations that need screws, you can use 2 M2 screws between 8mm and 18mm for the Model 1 and between 4mm and 18mm for the Model 2 case.

I've included the .f3d files, so you can make any adjustment you seem fit :)
