The original did not mesh with the GT2 profile causing it to need to apply pressure to the belt and bow out, eventually failing. This redesign uses an accurate GT2 profile to hold the belt without the need for clamping force.

Additionally, now the screws screw into plastic instead of using nuts. Do not overtighten! The clamps do not hold the belt by squeezing it. Instead the belts are held by the interlocking with the teeth. In fact you may be able to slide the belt side to side in the clamp. This is expected.

I tested these with a 9 min 20 second benchy print and they held up.

Hardware

  • 4 M3 x 6mm screws, preferably button head for weight ;)

Print Instructions

Print with the teeth facing up. See photos for print orientation example.

  • 100% infill
  • 4 walls
  • 0.4mm line width
  • 0.12 layer height

Changelog

  • v2: Reduced length and thickness to reduce weight and changed recommendation from 10mm to 6mm screws.
