Modular design approach to a stackable andon light using commonly available flexible WS2812 (or similar) LED strips. LED spacing is 16 mm.
Great as a status indicator for machines, though not necessarily for industrial purposes.
Module diameter is ~50 mm and height is ~48 mm per stage.
I made this design a while ago but didn't think it was ready enough for uploading.
There are some tight tolerances especially in the LED strip holders making up the center pillar everything rests on. A better approach may be to simply use a PCB with similar dimensions instead of fiddling the LED strips into a long center pillar.
To save a lot of time and retracts, print the diffusers with 0 % infill. The walls are so thin, that no infill is actually necessary.
One method to drive the LEDs is with WLED, by grouping the LEDs accordingly into lighting segments.
