The totally not overkill driver mount

I needed a DIN mounting solution for my four drivers and I might have gone a little bit overboard…

Supports both horizontal and vertical mount (100mm +-10mm spacing) utilizing the Voron DIN clip (rs25_psu_bracket_clip.stl).

STEP is included if you wish to make any modifications.

Printing

I used Nobufil PETG CF and 3DO ASA for my model but you can use whatever you want.

The only setting i would say is required is layer height:

  • Layer height: ≤ 0.20mm

My other settings used are:

  • Perimeters: 4
  • Infill: Gyroid 25%
  • Top/Bottom layers: 4

Bill of materials

Depending on mounting orientation the requirement will differ.

Assembly

  1. Insert the M3 heat inserts. If you are using the horizontal mount you have an additional 4 inserts from the bottom of the base.

IMPORTANT! Make sure that the inserts in the base is seated fully. There is not much tolerance since we are sandwich mounting the drivers. If there is any “overflow” make sure to trim it down so the surface is flat.

  2. Connect data/pwr cables to the drivers now (the ones connected to the stepstick) since you will not be able to access them after the enclosure is assembled.
The fan mount is to the right in this picture.

    1. If you are using the vertical mount you need to mount the DIN brackets before adding the drivers since you won't be able to access the groove for the square nut once the drivers are mounted.

  3. Mount the exhaust filter in the cover (slides in from the bottom)

  4. Place the cover on the main body assembly and screw in the 16x 40mm screws to secure the cover and the drivers.

  5. Mount in the Fan using the 35mm (or 30mm when no shroud is used) screws.

  6. If you opted for horizontal mounting you can now mount the DIN brackets.

  7. Done!
