Introduction
This mount is used for attaching a FrSky Archer Plus RS Mini receiver to the OMP Hobby M1 EVO radio-controlled helicopter. The mount replaces the lower carbon fiber “Frame Middle Plate” of the original model and adds an integrated Rx bracket.
Since the M1 EVO is such a small helicopter, the intent of the mount was to try and keep the mount as light as possible, while still providing a secure mounting point as close as possible to the center of gravity of the helicopter.
Design
There are currently two variants of the mount.
The receiver is held in place by the “Canopy Anti-loose silicon sleeve” and front “Landing Skids Mount.” This also provides for strain relief for the cable to the “Flight Controller” by passing the cable under the "Landing Skids Mount."
The approximate weights of the mounts printed in PETG are…. Stock carbon fiber Frame Middle Plate – 0.40 gm, V1 Receiver Mount – 0.62 gm, V2 Receiver Mount – 0.56 gm.
Printing
Because the features and wall thickness are very thin to keep the weight down, it is recommended that the mount be printed in PETG for the improved layer bonding. It should also be printed at 100% infill and 0.1mm layer height to maximize the number of layers and resolution. V1 should be imported as a “single object with multiple parts” because there is a sacrificial support used for the front overhang. This can easily be snapped off after the print is finished. No additional supports should be required.
The examples were printed in Sunlu black PETG and 3DJake dark blue PETG using a 0.4mm nozzle and the 0.1mm FAST DETAIL profile.
Assembly
Step 1. Remove the three lower front frame screws from one side of the helicopter.

Step 2. Carefully spread the frame sides and remove the lower Frame Middle Plate from the slots in the frame.

Step 3. Slide the receiver into the mount from the front of the mount with the wires facing forward. Either side can be facing up with the V1 mount, and the button/LEDs must be facing up with the V2 mount.

Step 4. Gently separate the frame sides and slide the receiver and mount from the rear paying attention to route the cable under the front landing skid mount and over the front cross brace with the o-rings. Align the tabs of the mount with the slots in the frame and re-install the three screws removed in Step 1.

When installed correctly the tabs on the mount should be fully seated in the slots in the frame and there should be no gaps between the mount and the frame sides. The connector should be against the front landing skid mount, and the wires routed under the landing skid mount as shown below. You can then connect the cable to the connector on the OMP controller board.

Tip: You may want to add a small piece of electrical tape, or something along the bottom edge of the frame to keep the cable from chafing on the sharp edge of the carbon fiber frame.
