Needed a way to mount bikes with thru-axles in the back of my van. Decided on this clamping design as its easier to load and unload bikes rather than solid thru axle mounts that I used in the past.

This was designed to work with 12x100mm, 12x110mm, 15x100mm, and 15x110mm thru axles. There are two different sleeves for either 12mm or 15mm that snap into place. I printed my sleeves out of 98A TPU but also tested and works in PETG, PLA, or 95A TPU. The sleeves are interchangeable so one mount can be used for different bikes by switching sleeves.

The bases come in two different flavors, either narrow or wide. The base is modular so either mount can be fitted to the top half or the top half can be mounted directly via the 4x 1/4"-20 holes. The base hole spacing on both mounts is designed around aluminum L-Track with 3/8" studs. I also provided a version with 1/4" holes for different mounting options if you are not using L-Track.

After testing a few locking cams I settled on one with a 2mm lever offset so that it locks in place. After spending hours driving around it has stayed tight and hasn't come loose.

I printed my cam.locks out of PETG and 98A TPU and prefer the TPU but both work. I provided 3 versions of the locks so you can tune how tight you want the lock to feel. I recommend trying the one with no offset first.

I printed all parts with 11 perimeter walls to make sure it was very tough. Not sure if that is completely necessary but I'd rather have it too tough than fall apart. I tried hard to break this mount and went through multiple design improvements to make it as tough as reasonable possible. I printed all parts in PETG except for the sleeve and cam.lock which were printed in 98A TPU. Entire mount with Narrow Base uses approximately 240g of filament.
