This was created following inspiration of Ball Clocks made in the 1970's. I looked online at the designs that were made at the time. My initial model was created with 8mm steel balls but the weight of the balls was not heavy enough to make a practical model.
This model is now designed with 10mm steel balls. I have designed the model with simplicity in mind for the builder.
The printed layers are 0.3mm in height for speed and does not detract from its great looks!
I have now printed the three time bars at the front in 0.2mm layers to create clearer numbers and letters.
The mechanism is provided by a few cheap electrical parts easily found online. cheap stepper motor programmed by an Arduino Nano microcontroller board . Before you are put off by this idea. Please read the attached PDF file. It really is EASY for someone that has no basic knowledge of the subject and NO SOLDERING IS REQUIRED
This is my first project of designing anything with electrical parts. I was surprised just how easy this project was electrically. I don't mean the planning and building of the model.
All the information you need to complete the project is provided.
(I enjoyed this project so much I am now thinking what else can I make with animation.
Any ideas?)

The author marked this model as their own original creation.
