The famous and Original A10chy (Version 2)

I created the original A10chy a good few years back. Since then there have been other people who made their own variants since but this was the original printable A10 Warthog-Benchy (A10chy). 

For anyone interested in the history of this model, see the additional information below. The TLDR version is :- V1 was created in a joke in a reddit discussion. It was just about printable but really delicate. Version 2 variants were actually designed to be printed and had numerous tweaks and improvements over its life. The version in this download was the last of the version 2 variants created. It's here solely as it was the first proper version and some may prefer it to the final version (V3) that is now available in my other downloads. V3 was due to be finalised and uploaded at around the time Printables suddenly started removing Benchy mods in 2024 and was at the time kept just for my own use because of that situation.

Update Note Feb 2025 :- When the recent licence change for the Benchy stopped the previous Printables Benchy Cull of 2024, the original A10chy (V2.3) plus my other Benchy mods have been re uploaded. A10chy V3 was also uploaded at this time.

As a workaround to the printables takedowns at the time, I created a ‘parts version’ of A10chy so you could still build your own A10chy with your own supplied Benchy. With the release of Benchy into the public domain in 2025 I could now finally return A10chy back to its rightful place here and I have now also deleted the parts bin model set.

Only one version of A10chy from the original fileset that was once here has survived my own deletions, but thankfully it was the latest fully loaded iteration of Version 2.  This was one of the most printed versions and was the latest released model at the time of the bans, being available for around 8 months before removal.

The V2 variants of A10chy were five percent oversized as I wanted a perfect model to check for any issues. If you want A10chy at true Benchy scale it needs to be printed at 95 percent size. This scale issue only applies to A10chy V2 models. All my other Binky and Benchy mods are at the correct scale.

I had also created a whole new version of A10chy (V3) that printed easier and was stronger in all the delicate areas that had made V2 a challenging print for many. I also did a number of other tweaks and improvements on V3 at the same time. It was almost ready for release when the bans and takedowns started in 2024 so it never saw public access until now.  Version 3 is finally available in a separate download from here:-

A10chy History:-

A couple of years back, I created the A10chy as a bit of a joke in a Reddit post. Importantly, at the time I never intended it to be printed, it was literally a bit of fun. Then people began asking for the stl file. Version 1 was consequently a hot mess and really hard to print. Even when it did print it was still crazy delicate. However, at the time I was a relative newbie to 3d design so fixing the issues I had created for myself in that joke design was pretty much beyond me  at the time.

When I got better at the design aspects of 3d modelling,  I came back to it and tweaked it to be more printable. I created increasingly better versions with numerous edits and changes from the original. Version 2.3 was the end result of editing the original to a point where it was truly suitable for printing and was the last of the version 2 models released. 

That brings us to October 2024 where A10chy as a simple single print (wings, tail, gun etc affixed to the core boat) had to be deleted and a split version created that didn't supply a benchy in the file set. It was effectively a build-a-benchy for a while.I had still been working on version 3 of the A10chy when the copyright strikes started so had the latest version almost ready to release. But instead of releasing V3 I was instead forced to remove my fleet of benchy mods. Although I finished creating V3 as I intended, the benchy licence at the time forbid me sharing it. Instead I created a new boat design and using parts of the V3 Atenchy files I released the A10chy replacement (along with new recreations of the previous benchy fleet at the same scale size as a benchy). The new boat was called Binky and it spawned new versions of all my Benchy mods in Binky form. 

The 'Binky" single print replacement for A10chy is called BRRRT and is available in my downloads along with the majority of redesigned Binky variants of my older Benchy core designs at a similar benchy scale. There are also new Binky designs that I had never created previously with the Benchy.

Printing tip:-

It will need supports. Supports will be needed. it will likely fail big time without supports. I would use supports. Supports are definitely advisable. Not using supports will not be good.
