Reverse bowden side-entry mount for direct drive hotends on Creality bed slingers. After switching to DD I wanted to be able to draw filament from the side like I did before converting. The mount this is based on seemed like it would fit the bill until I printed it. There were some mesh issues that made it difficult to mount and the two models weren't stitched together so the part was fragile after printing due to a buried mesh face inside.

The geometry of the original filament sensor indicated it was designed to be printed flat on the build plate not hanging in air so I dropped it down into the NEMA 17 bracket to merge the two models and to eliminate supports. I wanted to be able to mount it with screws not zip ties so I clearanced the model to allow for it. I've printed this in ABS and PLA+ without issue.

Use the trap door and assembly instructions from the source file.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Original had a buried face in between the models causing it to be easily separated after printing, two of the NEMA 17 mount holes were obscured, and the filament sensor was originally designed to sit flat on the build plate but was floating and required supports to print cleanly.

I dropped the filament sensor to the build plate, cleaned up the intersecting geometry, and relieved the bolt holes. It now prints without supports and doesn't require zip ties to mount.
