24-02-2024: Printables is getting exclusive WIP pics while it's happening while MakerWorld will just be getting pics of the latest stage of the process so that the models can stay up while meeting the requirements for models in ToS. The current newest pic also has the Ikakalaka in the bottom right (in pieces of course because why not) waiting to be put together.

I primarily wanted to make a khopesh because the new God of War: Ragnarok “Valhalla” DLC included a khopesh (attempting to avoid spoilers), and I mostly just wanted to make the creation of said khopesh even easier in case someone wants to remix a model instead of ripping one from the game proper or making it from scratch.

Altogether this should end up being around 63cm (~25in) which is on the longer side for a historical khopesh. I think that if you want it to be to scale to the ones in the Valhalla DLC, this file should be scaled up to 257.94% so that it measures 162.5cm (~64in). This math is not fact, it's just what I've guesstimated based on a ruler held up to my computer screen, but it's about as close as I think I can manage without getting official measurements from the devs.

All of the pieces should fit onto a Prusa Mini/ Ender 2 because the largest parts are 150mm from end to end. All the blade pieces use a dovetail with, I think, a .1mm clearance worked in so the tolerances could be a little tight.

As seems to be tradition with my models, these haven't been printed yet, but they did slice correctly in both Cura and PrusaSlicer so they shouldn't give you any issues.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This was a great model to begin with from Kayozz at https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/khopesh-sword-d5561f3abaf144c19aca4ef5ca2eb6a4 so kudos to them for making such a pretty model.

Separating the meshes was probably the most difficult and tedious part because I forgot Meshmixer existed until After I had split the blade and the handle. After that it wasn't too hard since I just had to Boolean the end of the blade from the handle so there's a join point. The handle was left as is, but the blade was cut into pieces that (should) all fit on the build plate of something like a Prusa Mini or an Ender 2. All the blade pieces use a dovetail with, I think, a .1mm clearance worked in so the tolerances could be a little tight.
