Hueforge filament painting (5 colors) of a dark princess.

Update 22.12.2023
==============

For those of you who find the dark princess too dark :D
The picture was originally intended to radiate a rather gloomy atmosphere and not depict a radiantly bright and smiling princess. Still a lighter version was requested occasionally, which I would like to offer here as an alternative. Please keep in mind - the picture was created as a dark picture, so this lighter version may or may not be as visually appealing as you expect.

The STL is the same - the mesh did not change. Also the filaments are the same, I only adjusted the layers to change filaments:

Start with Black

  • At layer #14 (0.76mm) swap to Navy Blue
  • At layer #20 (1.0mm) swap to Grey
  • At layer #29 (1.36mm) swap to Latte Brown
  • At layer #34 (1.56mm) swap to White for the rest.

Original description below
====================

The photo shows an actual print of the model (scaled down to 130x130mm).

I like the more cartoon-ish look when printed with matte filaments - you will get smoother transitions with non-matte filaments.

For this print I used the following filaments:

  • eSun PLA matte - Deep Black
  • Eryone matte - Navy Blue
  • eSun PLA matte - Dark Grey
  • Bambu Lab PLA matte - Latte Brown
  • eSun PLA matte - Milky White

Other filaments that I have tried also worked well... experiment with what you have!

The following PLA filaments also worked great:

  • Bambu Lab Matte Charcoal
  • Kexcelled Matte Navy Blue
  • Bambu Lab Matte Ash Grey
  • Bambu Lab Matte Latte Brown
  • Bambu Lab Matte Ivory White

How to print:

  •  Start with Black
  • At layer #7 (0.48mm) swap to Navy Blue
  • At layer #25 (1.2mm) swap to Grey
  • At layer #31 (1.44mm) swap to Latte Brown
  • At layer #41 (1.84mm) swap to White for the rest.

The original STL is 200 x 200 mm. If you want to scale it down, please scale only X and Y - do not scale z (height).

Print with a layer height of 0.04mm and a first layer at 0.24mm. 100% infill (aligned rectilinear), 0.4mm nozzle. I recommend the slicer/speed settings from this Youtube video by the maker of Hueforge:

As usual, first slicing can take quite a while (> 2M triangles).
