The hinges on my Subpod compost bin broke within a week of receiving it. When I looked at the broken hinges, I saw that the thinnest part was pressed with an ejection pin in the injection molder, so it's a weak spot.
I widened the weak spot to make them stronger.
I'm not the best with Tinkercad, so the part is a bit wonky. My printed hinges have lasted 18 months thus far.
Print with at least 50% infill and/or 4 walls to keep them strong. I used ABS, and the hinges in the photo were printed quickly on low resolution.
