The G50 grinder has very fragile lid hooks that break easily causing the lid to fall off and preventing it to start. I made a two part ring with new hooks on the bottom attached to the lid.
NOTE: There are spare lids sold by Teesa for a reasonable price. If you are looking for a solution, check them out. I made this model before I found out that I can by a new lid.
SAFETY NOTE: Please use glue to firmly fix parts in place. The bottom ring deactivates the safety switch on the grinder as the lid itself before breaking. If the upper part or the lid falls off during grinding, the rotating blade will become accesible and can cause injuries if you put your fingers inside.
I take no responsibility for any damages or injuries caused by using the grinder with the ring installed. Use it at your own risk. Always make sure the grinder is safe to use. Keep away from children (as well as the original grinder)
Printing:
I used black Fiberlogy Easy PLA and 0.3 mm layer height. You might want to use 0.2 or lower height. I prefer the 0.3 because the Vertical Fine Artifacts are less visible.
Three perimeters.
Automatic supports with 35* overhang threshold. The model is easy to print and the only supports needed are under the hooks.
Assembly:
3. Glue the bottom ring to the top ring. Press it for some time to adhere properly.
I used a gel cyanoacrylic glue, but perhaps some more dense one with filling capabilites might be better.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
