The Bunker Buster model rocket takes inspiration from the GBU-28 bomb, a 5,000 pound laser guided ground penetrating bomb designed by the U.S. military. This rocket was designed and prototyped for use with Estes 24mm D12-3 motor, and Estes 3/16" rod launch pad. The rocket is 42mm in diameter at its widest point, it has a total length of 25", it weighs 200 grams with the motor installed, and it will fly 600+ feet. It is 3D printed in ABS plastic and it is made up of 7 parts; the nose cone assembly, the body tube assembly, the base fins, and the motor cap. For reference I included an image of the Open Rocket design file.
**Nose Cone Tip - add infill with a target weight of 12.5 grams**
Assembly: Test fit parts before assembly, make any adjustments needed with sand paper. Install shock cord on Lower Tube Mount. Glue Lower Tube to Upper Tube. Glue Tube assembly to Base Fins. Glue Nose Cone Fins to Nose Cone Base, then Glue Nose Cone Tip. Attach the shock cord to Nose Cone Base, and then add the parachute.
