Description

Sick of auto bed leveling issues? The MAXPROBE backplate fixes them for good. Your printer should have come from Creality like this.

Features

  • Easy to install - takes just 10 minutes, no cutting wires (you don't even have to unplug them!) and no soldering needed
  • Uses all original components and fasteners
  • Fixes inaccurate bed probing
  • Reduces the unprobed bed area
  • Relocates CR touch probe for -34 X-offset and 0 Y-offset - this is the smallest x-offset of any zero Y-offset probe mount available
  • Retains the factory ability to easily remove and install the extruder
  • Clean look with wiring tucked away inside

Includes

  • STLs with different tolerances to suit your printer and settings
  • Step by step installation instructions (English)

Suits

  • Printers with Creality Sprite Pro extruder
  • Creality CR10 Smart Pro
  • Creality Ender 3 S1
  • Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro

Install notes

  • Two versions included:
    • Threaded insert version - uses 2x each M2, M2.5, M3 Aliexpress brass heat-set threaded inserts (recommended for long life)
    • No-insert version - has holes designed for the original fasteners to self-tap directly into the plastic
  • Need to trim 3mm off the CR-touch probe (see photo)
  • CR-10 Smart Pro needs to use a low-profile X-axis limit switch mount (available free in my other models)

Setup notes

You will need to update some of your printers settings with Pronterface:

  1. PID retune the hot end. You can do this with the following commands:
       - M303 E0 S240 U1
       - M500
  2. Update XYZ probe offset. You can do this with the following commands:
       - M851 X-34 Y0 Z-1.5
       - M500

Then you need to adjust the Z height on your printer. Step 2 above sets it to -1.5 which is conservative. However, if this value is wrong your nozzle can hit and damage your bed, so you need to adjust to suit your own printer

Choosing the right STL

Due to the way FDM printers work, small holes will come out slightly undersize. Therefore, STLs with different size holes in them have been included. Choose the hole size that allows the spigot on the heat-set insert to sit in the hole before being installed. If you are not sure, start with the +0.3 STL.
